Kaup, Feb 6: A tempo vehicle, reportedly involved earlier in a case related to public nuisance at Hejamady toll gate, overturned again and met with an accident within the limits of Kudligi police station while en route to Hampi.
The tempo, said to be from Karkala, had earlier been stopped midway on the national highway at Hejamady, where students travelling in the vehicle allegedly created a nuisance by behaving indecently and obstructing the public as well as other vehicles. A case had been registered in this connection.

The same vehicle later overturned on the way to Hampi, resulting in an accident. It is learnt that students from near Guruvayur were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the mishap. One of their teachers sustained a fracture to the leg bone in the accident.
The students and teachers had arrived in Mangaluru by train and had continued their journey using this tempo from Karkala.
Earlier, a case had been registered at the Padubidri police station against the driver for allowing the students to celebrate a classmate’s birthday by bursting crackers at Hejamady.
