Mumbai, Feb 5: Kannada Sahitya Parishat’s K Vasudevachar Endowment Award has been announced for journalist and writer Srinivas Jokatte’s short story collection Adella Bittu.
The Central Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Bengaluru, had invited entries for 58 endowment awards across 54 categories for works published between January and December 2024. The results were recently declared, and Adella Bittu, authored by Mumbai-based Srinivas Jokatte, was selected for the K Vasudevachar Endowment Award.
According to administrator KM Gayithri, around 900 books from across Karnataka, the country and abroad were received for consideration. A 19-member expert committee chaired by Dr K Marulasiddappa constituted five separate panels of subject specialists to evaluate the books and select the award-winning works in their respective categories.

Srinivas Jokatte has published 46 books so far, and seven of his works have received various literary awards. One of his short stories was also included in the second-year BCom syllabus of Mangaluru University.
Among the honours he has received earlier are the Karnataka Sahitya Academy Book Award, Vardhamana Sahitya Award, Sahitya Sethu Award, Visvesvaraya National Literary Award, Vikas Book Award, Karavali Samskruthika Prathishtana Sahitya Award and the Kannada Sahitya Parishat’s K Vasudevachar Endowment Award.
