Udupi: Fisherman drowns after accidentally falling into water at Hangarakatta

Udupi, Feb 5: A fisherman lost his life after accidentally falling into the water while engaged in fishing at Hangarakatta in Baludru village on February 3.

The deceased has been identified as Nataraj (36), a resident of Manuru village.

According to sources, the incident occurred when Nataraj was fishing from a boat. After having his meal, he reportedly slipped and fell into the water while washing his hands. Despite an immediate search by his fellow fishermen, he could not be traced at the time.

The following morning, on February 4, his body was found submerged in the water.

A case has been registered at the Kota police station and further investigation is underway.
