Abu Dhabi, Feb 4: A new multimillionaire was crowned as Big Ticket announced the winner of its Dh20 million grand prize during a live draw held in Abu Dhabi.

Shanthanu Shettigar, an Indian expatriate and a native of Udyavar in Udupi, working in the retail sector in Oman, emerged as the top prize winner after ticket number 305810 was declared the winning ticket in the much-anticipated Series 283 draw. The win marks another significant milestone for the UAE’s longest-running raffle.

The live broadcast drew widespread attention, with participants tuning in from across the globe in anticipation of one of the biggest raffle prizes currently on offer in the UAE.

Speaking to the hosts after the announcement, Shettigar said he was overwhelmed by the win and admitted that he did not yet know ‘what to do with the prize money’. He also revealed that he had purchased the ticket jointly with a friend and plans to share the winnings.

Shettigar instantly became the latest Big Ticket jackpot winner with his Dh20 million windfall.
