Mangaluru, Feb 3: Fire was spotted again on a hillock at Arasupadavu under the Yekkar gram panchayat limits on Monday morning, triggering concern among local residents.

It may be recalled that a fire which had spread across the hillock on February 1 was brought under control and doused after continuous efforts by the fire and emergency services personnel.

However, the flames were noticed once again early Monday morning, raising fears that the fire could spread towards the nearby residential area and pose a threat to houses and residents in the vicinity.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and managed to extinguish the blaze. Later in the afternoon, the fire reportedly broke out again, following which the fire personnel returned and doused it once more.
