Bantwal athlete Gladys Pais wins medals in Kerala meet, selected for world event in Korea

Bantwal, Feb 2:  'Golden Girl' Gladys Pais, athlete from Bantwal representing Karnataka, won medals at 46th national-level senior citizens' athletics meet held in Kerala from January 27 to February 1.

The athlete competed in a multi-disciplinary sports meet organised in Kerala and secured gold medals in the 200 metres hurdles event and the 4x100 metres relay. She also bagged a silver medal in 400 metres running. The strong performance helped Karnataka add to its overall medal tally at the meet.

Following the impressive showing, the Bantwal athlete has also been selected to represent India at a world-level athletics event scheduled to be held in Korea in July.

Sports officials and well-wishers have congratulated the athlete for the achievement and expressed confidence that the international exposure will further enhance performance on the global stage.
