According to eyewitnesses, a Maruti Suzuki Fronx travelling from Kundapur towards Udupi rammed into a Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 that was moving ahead in the same direction. The accident occurred when the Alto K10 driver was attempting to turn left from NH-66 into the inner road connecting Bandebailu, and the driver of the car coming from behind lost control and crashed directly into it.
