Mangaluru: Three-day Street Food Fest kicks off on Kadri Park road

Mangaluru, Jan 31: As part of the Karavali Utsav celebrations, a three-day Street Food Fest was inaugurated on Friday January 30 along the main road of Kadri Park in the city. Renowned chef Shriya Shetty inaugurated the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Shriya Shetty said that the food preferences of the people of coastal Karnataka are truly unique. The region’s deep love for snacks and street food has elevated its food culture, she noted, adding that the coast is widely known for its diverse range of delicacies.



Deputy commissioner Darshan H V, addressing the gathering, said that the public has participated in large numbers in all the programmes organised as part of this year’s Karavali Utsav. He added that more diverse programmes would be organised in the coming days.

Union Bank of India general manager Rajendra Kumar, DGM Tejaswini, Mangaluru sub-divisional officer Meenakshi Arya, Yatheesh Baikampady and others were present at the event.

The Street Food Fest will be held from Friday to Sunday on the Kadri Park main road. The festival features a wide array of attractive snack items, chats, beverages, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food stalls. A large number of people participated on the very first day of the event.
