New Delhi, Jan 30: An IndiGo flight operating from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted to Ahmedabad on Friday morning following a bomb threat reported onboard. The aircraft, carrying 180 passengers, landed safely at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at around 6.40 am as a “precautionary measure”, officials said.
According to airport authorities, a passenger found a handwritten note on a piece of paper claiming that a bomb was present inside the aircraft. After the threat was reported, the pilot alerted Air Traffic Control and the flight was diverted to Ahmedabad.

All passengers were safely evacuated after landing, following which security personnel and airport staff carried out a thorough search of the aircraft.
“So far, no suspicious object has been recovered. The flight may take off after getting a final go-ahead,” an airport official said.
In a statement, IndiGo confirmed that flight 6E 1232, operating from Kuwait to Delhi on January 30, 2026, was diverted to Ahmedabad after a security threat was detected onboard.
“The relevant authorities were immediately informed, and all the mandated protocols were followed. The aircraft was cleared after all necessary checks, and the flight will depart shortly,” an IndiGo spokesperson said.
The airline expressed regret over the inconvenience caused to passengers and said efforts were made to minimise the impact by providing refreshments and meals, along with regular updates. IndiGo reiterated that the safety and security of passengers, crew and aircraft remain its top priority.
