Udupi: IMJ Institution Moodlakatte celebrates 77th Republic Day with pride

Udupi, Jan 30: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great pride, respect, and enthusiasm at IMJ Educational Institutions, Moodlakate. The programme began with the hoisting of the national flag.

Retired Subedar Major Shankanath S Nagekar was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he spoke about the importance of national unity, discipline, and patriotism. He also shared insights on the future of communication and development, highlighting areas such as cloud computing, advanced security systems, and global connectivity. Encouraging nursing students to consider careers in the Indian Army, he emphasized the wide range of employment opportunities available in the defence sector. In recognition of his dedicated service and contributions, the institution honoured him with a memento.

The event was graced by Dr S N Bhatt, academic director of IMJ Institutions; Dr Padma Charan, dean; Dr Ramakrishna Hegde, principal of MITK; Prof Jennifer Freda Menezes, principal of MCN; Dr Pratibha Patel, principal of IMJ Institute of Science & Commerce; physical education directors Dr R Naveen and Praveen Kharvi; campus managers Satyanarayana (an ex-serviceman) and Deepak Kumar, along with faculty members and students.

The programme was compered by Sushma Upadhyaya. The Republic Day celebrations concluded on a patriotic note with the singing of the national anthem.
