Mumbai, Jan 28: Archbishop John Rodrigues on Wednesday expressed profound grief over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who lost his life in a tragic air crash earlier in the day.

In a condolence message issued by the Press Office of the Archdiocese of Bombay, the Archbishop conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the Maharashtra government and the people of the state. The statement said the news of Pawar’s untimely death in the Baramati aircraft crash on January 28 had plunged Maharashtra into deep shock and mourning.

Describing Ajit Pawar as a devoted public servant, the statement noted that his steadfast commitment to the welfare of Maharashtra and its citizens left a lasting impact on countless lives.
