Mount Carmel Primary section celebrates Republic Day with patriotic joy

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jan 25: The Primary section of Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, celebrated Republic Day on January 24 with great joy and patriotic spirit. The programme was beautifully presented by the little ones of grade I B, C and D, who showed their love for the country through prayers, songs, dances and skits.

The celebration began with a prayer, asking god to bless our nation and its people. This was followed by a lively welcome dance that filled the atmosphere with happiness and warmly welcomed the chief guest, Commandant Animesh Majumdar, district technical officer, Indian Coast Guard, Mangaluru, and everyone present.

The young students sang patriotic songs and performed colourful dances, expressing their pride in being Indians. A short and simple reflection by Hasthi, Ridhish and Misha helped the children understand the importance of Republic Day. A delightful skit was presented to explain the Rights of Citizens such as the Right to Equality, Right to Education and Right to Freedom. These important ideas were made easy for everyone to understand through expressive dances and lively performances.

One of the special moments of the celebration was when the chief guest, along with the school administrator, the superior, the head teacher, and the coordinators, honoured Dr B R Ambedkar by garlanding his portrait, teaching the children to respect the leaders who helped build our nation.

Addressing the students, the chief guest shared his inspiring childhood story and spoke about how he was motivated to serve the nation from a young age. His words encouraged the children to dream big and love their country.

Sr Reshma, the head teacher, appreciated the confident performances of the students and their teachers, and gently reminded the children to use their rights responsibly and grow into good citizens.

The programme was ably compered by Lionel, Hasthi, Shaurya, Vrishank and Fathima, while Bhavik, Calida, Jovin and Venisha welcomed the gathering and Lihan, Jaden and Meera delivered the vote of thanks.

The celebration ended with the National Anthem, filling every young heart with pride, respect and love for the nation.
