Mangaluru: Yenepoya Nursing College holds national conference

Mangaluru, Jan 24: Yenepoya Nursing College, the department of mental health nursing in collaboration with the department of medical surgical nursing, held a national conference on ‘Redefining Neuropsychiatry: Innovation, Integration & Holistic Approaches for a Changing World' on January 23 at EMD Hall, Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University.

The chief guests Dr Gangadhara Somayaji K S, vice chancellor, Yenepoya deemed to be University and Dr Fathima D’Silva, principal, NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences emphasized on the uniqueness and superspecialized nature of neuropsychiatry, highlighting the impact of current advancements in mental health and neurological care.

In the presidential address, Dr Leena KC, Dean, Yenepoya Nursing College highlighted the uniqueness and growing super specialization of neuropsychiatry and its evolving role in the era of Artificial Intelligence. Guest of honour Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice chancellor, and incharge registrar Dr B T Nandish, Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University, were present in the event.

Organizing chairpersons Dr Binsha Pappachan, HOD, department of mental health nursing, YNC welcomed the gathering and Prof Shashikumar Jawadagi, HOD, department of medical surgical nursing, proposed the vote of thanks. Total of 184 delegates from various states attended the conference.
