Patna, Jan 23: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Friday spearheaded a major development drive in Muzaffarpur district as part of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, laying the foundation stone for 89 projects, inaugurating 47, and initiating work on 36 more projects worth several hundred crore rupees.
During his visit, the chief minister engaged with Jeevika Didis, scheme beneficiaries, and local villagers at a public dialogue program, while reviewing progress on ongoing initiatives. He inspected key infrastructure works, including the widening of Chandni Chowk to Barkhi Path and the Road Over Bridge (ROB) project, issuing directions to accelerate construction and ensure timely completion.

Nitish Kumar also inaugurated renovations at the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) premises and distributed cheques to beneficiaries under various state schemes. A high-level meeting with district officials at the Mini Secretariat emphasized corruption-free governance and a citizen-focused approach.
Deputy chief ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with ministers Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Ram Kripal Yadav, senior officials, and other dignitaries, attended the event.
The Samriddhi Yatra, launched on January 16, has so far covered eight districts, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Sitamarhi, Sheohar, Gopalganj, Saran, Siwan, and Muzaffarpur, with projects worth thousands of crores inaugurated or initiated. The first phase concludes on January 24 in Vaishali, while the second phase begins on January 27, covering districts like Madhubani and Darbhanga.
