Man brandishes gun in car on Bengaluru–Mangaluru Highway; viral video prompts police arrest

Bengaluru, Jan 19: Panic briefly gripped commuters on the Bengaluru–Mangaluru National Highway after a man was seen displaying a gun while seated inside a car, triggering alarm among motorists and the general public.

The incident reportedly took place near the Talakere hand post in Bengaluru South district. A video of the episode, showing the man brandishing the weapon from inside the vehicle, has since gone viral on social media platforms.

Witnesses said that the sight of the gun caused immediate fear among road users, leading to confusion and a tense atmosphere in the area for some time. “People were shocked and unsure of what might happen next,” said a commuter who witnessed the incident.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the gun seen in the viral footage was genuine or a replica.

The video has drawn sharp reactions online, with several members of the public expressing anger and concern over the incident and the potential threat to public safety.

Taking serious note of the matter, the Kuduru police have registered a suo motu case.
