Sullia, Jan 18: A tragic incident occurred this afternoon in Kulkunda, Sullia, when two young men drowned in the Subrahmanya Kumaradhara River.

The deceased have been identified as Hariprasad Kollmogara, a businessman based in Subrahmanya, and another youth, Sujeeth Kollmogara.

According to local sources, “the two had gone to the river to swim when they suddenly got caught in the currents and drowned.”

 

The exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, and authorities are investigating.

Sullia police have registered a case and launched an inquiry into the deaths. They are also urging residents and visitors to exercise caution near riverbanks, particularly during the season when water levels and currents can be unpredictable.
