Karkala: Gas cylinder explosion damages house in Sanur village

Karkala, Jan 16: A gas cylinder explosion in a house caused extensive damage to property, including a wall, at Mudanna Nagar in Sanur village early on Friday morning at around 1.30 am. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

The mishap occurred at the residence of Warija in Mudanna Nagar. The gas cylinder, which was kept in a room outside the kitchen, exploded. The intensity of the blast caused severe damage to the house wall, furniture, washing machine, kitchen utensils and electrical appliances.

As the explosion occurred outside the main part of the house, no one was harmed. The exact cause of the explosion is yet to be ascertained.

The loss caused in the incident has been estimated at around Rs 3 lac.
