Bantwal: Four Dakshina Kannada schools get smart boards from Israel firm

Bantwal, Jan 15: Smart boards donated by Israel-based organisation Masha, at a cost of Rs 3.5 lac each, were inaugurated at the Anantadi Bantrinjakki Government Lower Primary School here on Thursday afternoon.

The donation covers four schools in Dakshina Kannada district and was facilitated through the efforts of Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta.

Addressing the gathering, Orli Weitzman, consul general of Israel to South India, said India, recognised as one of the world’s leading nations, shares warm and cordial relations with Israel, a developed country.

“Such initiatives will contribute to the development of rural India and help take bilateral relations between the two countries to greater heights,” she said.

Inaugurating the smart board, Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta said the initiative was “not merely about installing smart boards”. “These facilities will support academic and social discussions, improve classroom interaction and strengthen teaching methods. Continued cooperation will be ensured for the overall development of schools,” he said.

The programme was presided over by MLA for Bantwal Rajesh Naik. Also present were Sanath Kumar Rai, president of the Thumbeekodi Late Mahabala Rai Educational Trust; GP president Sujatha Suresh; School Development Committee president Hemalatha Diwakar Gowda; headmistress Sharada; guest teacher Mallika; and assistant teacher Mamatha, who proposed the vote of thanks.

The programme was compered by teacher Venkatesh.
