Mumbai: DK MP Capt Bijesh Chowta campaigns for BJP candidates ahead of BMC elections

Mumbai, Jan 13: In the backdrop of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, Dakshina Kannada (DK) Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Capt Bijesh Chowta arrived in Mumbai and actively took part in the election campaign in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates.

The MP arrived at Mumbai International Airport last Monday, where he was accorded a warm welcome with floral bouquets by BJP leaders and other dignitaries, who received him and escorted him into the city.

Later, MP Capt Bijesh Chowta arrived at the Billava Bhavan’s Sri Narayana Guru Sabhagruha at Santacruz East, where he was welcomed by Billava Association Mumbai president Harish G Avin, honorary president L V Avin (former president of the BJP South India Unit, Mumbai), and other office-bearers. The MP first offered prayers at the temple located within the Bhavan, worshipped the idol of Brahmashri Narayana Guru installed there, and paid floral tributes to the portraits of Koti-Chennayya and Kantabare Boodabare.

On the occasion, BJP Mumbai South Indian unit general secretary Vijay S Shetty Panakaje, Billava Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) working president N T Poojary, former Ahar president Narayana Alva, Jayanand Devadiga, Prakash Shetty, Veena Shenai, Jyothi Shetty, Suresh Anchan, Ramesh Shetty (BEST), Santacruz Jaya Poojary, and several others were present.
