Kannada publisher, writer, actor Asha Raghu found dead at Malleswaram, Bengaluru residence

Bengaluru, Jan 10: Renowned Kannada publisher. writer and actress Asha Raghu (46) was found dead at her residence in Malleswaram on Saturday, police said.

According to police sources, Asha was found hanging inside a room of her house. Family members reportedly broke open the door after repeated calls went unanswered, only to find that she had died.

She is survived by her daughter. Her husband, K C Raghu, had passed away two years ago, and police said Asha was reportedly battling depression following his death.

Malleswaram police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. After post-mortem procedures, the body was handed over to the family.

Asha Raghu was a well-known figure in Kannada literary circles. She was a novelist and had also made her mark in the television industry, working as a dialogue writer and assistant director. Her death has come as a shock to the literary and cultural community.
