Mumbai, Jan 10: A devastating fire tore through a residential house in Bhagatsingh Nagar, Goregaon (West), in the early hours of Saturday, killing three members of the same family, including a teenage girl and a young boy.
Officials from the Mumbai Fire Brigade said the incident was reported at approximately 3.06 am at a ground-plus-one-storey dwelling. The fire rapidly spread through electrical wiring and household items on the ground floor, while clothes stored on the upper floor also caught fire.

Residents from the neighbourhood rushed to help and made initial attempts to control the flames using buckets of water before fire brigade teams arrived. Firefighters later disconnected the power supply and managed to bring the blaze under control by 3.16 am.
Three people who were trapped inside the house were rescued and immediately taken to Trauma Care Hospital in Goregaon, transported in a police vehicle and a private car. Doctors, however, declared them dead on arrival.
The victims have been identified as Harshada Pawaskar (19), Kushal Pawaskar (12), and Sanjog Pawaskar (48). Authorities confirmed that all three suffered severe burn injuries.
While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial findings suggest that an electrical fault may have triggered the incident. Further inquiries are ongoing.
