Bantwal: Autorickshaw plunges into roadside pit at Allipade; driver, students injured

Bantwal, Jan 10: An autorickshaw lost control and plunged into a roadside pit near Ujiradi at Allipade on the Manihalla–Sarapady road, leaving the driver and a few students injured on Friday.

The injured have been identified as the autorickshaw driver, Sanshuddin, and two to three students who were travelling in the vehicle. The incident occurred in the evening when the students were returning home after school.

The injured were rushed to Bantwal hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Their condition is said to be stable.

Bantwal traffic police rushed to the spot soon after the incident and carried out an inspection. Further details are awaited.
