Mangaluru, Jan 6: Department of Computer Science Engineering under the banner of the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE), successfully organised "ProtoPoster Conclave 2026", a project exhibition for the 3rd year BTech Engineering students on January 5.
The conclave was aimed at fostering innovation, problem-solving skills, and effective technical communication among students. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation with 52 teams and over 200 students presenting their mini projects across diverse domains including Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Base, Full Stack Development, Web Application, and Coding.











Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde (dean, SUIET Mukka) inaugurated the project exhibition. Dr Praveen B M (director-Research, Srinivas University), Dr Shifana Begum (HoD, Department of Computer Science Engineering), Prof Amritha A Kindalkar (program convener), Prof Shravya S (faculty coordinator - ACE), and student coordinators Thejaswini M and Lakshmi Bhat were present. Dr Praveen B M addressed the students and spoke on the importance of research and innovation. Dr Ramakrishna N Hegde highlighted the significance of project-based learning and innovation in engineering education.
The projects were evaluated by external judges. The assessment was done based on innovation, technical depth, presentation, and demonstration. The judges provided valuable feedback on students’ technical skills, presentation abilities and areas for improvement.
Prizes were presented to recognise the outstanding performances in the valedictory function held in the evening: Jyotsna R won the 'best pitch' prize, Rahul R Naik won the 'best poster' prize, and Sinchana T Urs won the 'best innovation and demo' prize.
Anish Shetty and team won the first overall prize of ProtoPoster Conclave 2026, while Ganesh and team won the runners-up prize. The event concluded successfully with active participation and positive feedback, reinforcing a strong culture of creativity, collaboration, innovation, research and development among students.
