Mangaluru, Jan 1: The Aloysius Champion Trophy – Inter trade cricket match was successfully organized by St Aloysius Industrial Training Institute, Mangaluru, on December 30 and 31 at the St Aloysius PU College ground. The tournament was conducted with great enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship among students of various trades.
The programme commenced with a cordial welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a prayer song, seeking blessings for the smooth conduct of the event. The guests were then formally welcomed.



















The inaugural function was presided over by Fr John D’Souza SJ, director, St Aloysius ITI, Mangaluru. The chief guest, Arshad Bajal, a renowned cricket player, graced the occasion. The dignitaries present on the dais included Roshan D’Souza (principal), Alwyn Menezes (vice principal), Noel Lobo (training officer), Wilson N (training officer), Melvin D’Souza (convener), and Rivan D’Souza (president – student council).
The chief guest motivated the students to actively participate in sports while pursuing academic and technical excellence.
The Aloysius Champion Trophy was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries, followed by the opening trial match initiated by the chief guest, marking the official commencement of the tournament. The matches were conducted over two days in a competitive yet friendly spirit.
The matches were officiated efficiently by the umpires Sonal, Royston, Aidol, Anston, Sujal, and Noel, whose fair judgment and cooperation ensured the smooth conduct of all matches.
The tournament concluded successfully with active participation from all trades, fostering unity, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among students. The event stood as a testament to the institute’s commitment to holistic student development through sports and co-curricular activities.

- In the diploma category, the HVAC Trade emerged as the winners, showcasing excellent performance and teamwork.
