Teja Sajja rubbishes exit rumours, confirms he is part of ‘Jai Hanuman’

Hyderabad, Jan 1: Actor Teja Sajja has dismissed rumours claiming that he has walked out of Jai Hanuman, the much-anticipated sequel to Prasanth Varma’s 2024 blockbuster HanuMan. Speculation had been rife in recent days, fuelled by the lack of updates on the sequel and reports suggesting that Teja had exited the project due to limited screen time and creative differences.

Several social media posts and reports alleged that the actor was distancing himself from the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU) and was uncertain about his role in the sequel, which will feature Rishab Shetty in the lead role as Lord Hanuman. However, Teja has firmly denied these claims.

Speaking to Hindustan Times, Teja clarified that the reports were “false news” and confirmed that he remains part of Jai Hanuman, putting an end to the speculation surrounding his alleged exit.

Earlier, in an interview in April 2024, Teja had spoken about the sequel, stating that while Jai Hanuman would focus entirely on Lord Hanuman rather than his superhero character, he was excited to be associated with the project. “I will also be a part of Jai Hanuman (the sequel of HanuMan). The film will be all about Lord Hanuman, but I will be a part of it,” he had said. He reiterated his enthusiasm in December 2024, saying he was eager to be on set.

Jai Hanuman was officially announced following the climax of HanuMan, where Teja’s character witnesses the emergence of Lord Hanuman from the Himalayas, hinting at a larger battle ahead. In October 2024, the makers revealed that Kannada star Rishab Shetty would portray Lord Hanuman in the sequel.

The film is yet to go on floors and is part of the expanding PVCU, which also includes upcoming projects such as Mahakali and Adhira.
