New Delhi, Dec 31: While former India captain Rohit Sharma has completed his domestic commitments, several top Indian cricketers are set to add star power to the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy as part of their preparation for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Virat Kohli is still scheduled to play one more match in the List A tournament, and he will be joined by Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja in the New Year.

According to a Cricbuzz report, Gill, Rahul and Jadeja have confirmed their availability to their respective state associations after the BCCI reiterated mandatory domestic participation following the conclusion of the international calendar year in 2025.

India Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill will represent Punjab in two group matches in Jaipur, against Sikkim on January 3 and Goa on January 6. Punjab are currently placed fourth in Group C, which also includes Mumbai, with two wins from three matches. Gill is expected to join the Indian squad in Baroda on January 7–8 ahead of the first ODI against New Zealand on January 11.

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has also confirmed his availability to the Saurashtra Cricket Association. He will play against Services on January 6 and Gujarat on January 8. Saurashtra, who have won only one of their three matches so far, are placed sixth in their group, which includes Rishabh Pant-led Delhi. All their league matches are being held in Alur, Karnataka.

KL Rahul’s participation is yet to be officially confirmed by the Karnataka State Cricket Association, but reports suggest he could feature in Karnataka’s matches against Tripura on January 3 and Rajasthan on January 6 in Ahmedabad. Karnataka have made a strong start to the tournament, winning all three of their league games.

With several senior India players returning to domestic cricket, the Vijay Hazare Trophy is set for a significant boost in attention as teams fine-tune preparations ahead of the New Zealand ODI series.
