Kundapur: Fire breaks out at building housing well-known bookshop, firecracker stores

Kundapur, Dec 29: A major fire broke out early Monday, December 29 morning at a building housing a well-known bookshop and firecracker stores in Kundapur, resulting in heavy losses.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday at the row of shops located on Rathabeedi, opposite the Venkataramana Temple in Kundapur town. According to sources, three shops in the building were completely gutted in the blaze.

Fire and emergency services personnel rushed to the spot immediately after receiving information and are battling the flames to bring the situation under control. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

No casualties have been reported so far. Further details regarding the extent of the damage are awaited.
