Udupi: Social worker and Congress member Helen Fernandes passes away

Udupi, Dec 28: Helen Fernandes (64), a noted social worker from Udyavara village who was actively involved in several organisations, passed away following a heart attack on Sunday.

Helen Fernandes had served for several years as the president of the Udyavara Rural Mahila Congress and was an active Congress worker, contributing significantly to party organisation at the grassroots level. She was also a member of the Udyavara Friends Circle, where she held various responsibilities with dedication and was presently serving as its vice-president.

She was actively associated with several organisations of the Udyavara Church and had rendered valuable service, particularly as a member of the parish pastoral council.

Helen Fernandes is survived by her three sons and a large circle of relatives and well-wishers. Her demise has been widely mourned by the local community and members of various organisations she was associated with.
