Organising sports events for bank employees is joyful initiative: Dr M N Rajendra Kumar

Mangaluru, Dec 27: The Sports Meet of the Dakshina Kannada District Central Cooperative Bank (SCDCC Bank) Employees’ Union, Mangaluru, was held on Saturday, December 27 at the Mangala Stadium.

The event was inaugurated by SCDCC Bank president Dr M N Rajendra Kumar by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Rajendra Kumar said that participation in sports activities helps improve both physical and mental fitness. He lauded the initiative of organising sports events for employees and said such programmes instil enthusiasm among staff members. “Employees who are constantly under work pressure should take a break from their routine and participate in sports in a spirit of unity and harmony,” he said.

Deputy director of the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Pradeep D’Souza, in his address, said that Dr Rajendra Kumar has been contributing not only to the cooperative sector but also to the field of sports. “It is indeed a happy occasion to see bank employees coming together at one place and actively participating in sports events,” he remarked.

Bank vice-president Vinay Kumar Soorinje, chief executive officer Gopinath Bhat, Devaraj Rai, Bank director Shashikumar Rai Bolyottu, Employees’ Union vice-president Rajaram Shetty, Joel Prakash D’Souza and others were present.

Employees’ Union president Karunakar welcomed the gathering and delivered the introductory address. On the dais, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar was felicitated on behalf of the Employees’ Union. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various sports events held as part of the meet.
