US West Coast braces for more rain as floods threaten millions

Daijiworld Media Network - Washington

Washington, Dec 26: Nearly 32 million people across the US West Coast remain under flood alerts as fresh spells of rain threaten regions already battered by torrential downpours a day earlier.

California, which bore the brunt of the heavy rainfall, is grappling with flooding, damaged infrastructure and hazardous travel conditions, even as authorities warn that the situation could worsen with additional rain forecast. Emergency crews are on high alert, monitoring rivers and low-lying areas, while residents in vulnerable zones have been advised to remain cautious.

Dana Griffin reported that communities across California continue to cope with the aftermath of the deluge, with officials stressing that the ongoing weather system poses a sustained risk of flash floods, landslides and road closures in the days ahead.
