St Aloysius University student wins silver, bronze at All India University Swimming Competition

Mangaluru, Dec 23: St Aloysius University has added yet another feather to its cap with an outstanding performance by Alaister Samuel Rego, a first-year BVoc Sports Management student, who delivered a stellar showing at the All India University Swimming Competition held at SRM University, Chennai, from December 19 to 23.

Rego clinched the silver medal in the 400 metres freestyle event, clocking an impressive time of 4 minutes 8.70 seconds, demonstrating exceptional endurance, discipline, and competitive spirit at the national level. Adding to his success, he also secured the bronze medal in the 200 metres freestyle, finishing with a commendable timing of 1 minute 57.32 seconds.

His dual-medal achievement stands as a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in the sport of swimming. The university fraternity has expressed immense pride in Rego’s remarkable performance, noting that his accomplishments have brought significant honour and recognition to St Aloysius University on a prestigious national platform.
