Mangaluru, Dec 23: On the serene evening of December 19, the school grounds of Lady Hill English Medium Higher Primary School, ICSE, radiated joy and gratitude as the institution commemorated its diamond jubilee annual day. Gracefully titled 'Lumière – Shining with Grace', the celebration unfolded as a beautiful tapestry of cherished memories, significant milestones, and young hearts filled with promise.

The evening was ushered in by a stately band escort, graciously welcoming the chief guests—Sr Maria Kripa AC, joint secretary, Ladyhill Educational Institutions; Sr Rose Agnes AC, assistant provincial superior, Apostolic Carmel Karnataka Province; Fr. Daniel Veigas OP, episcopal vicar for religious, Mangaluru diocese, parish priest and spiritual director, St. Dominic Church, Ashok Nagar; Fr. Benjamin Pinto, parish priest, Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, Urwa; M P Noronha, principal district government pleader of Dakshina Kannada; Roy Castelino, entrepreneur and social architect; Premnath S Kudva, chairman and managing director, Canara Workshops Limited; M Ravindra Shet, managing partner, S L Shet Diamond House, Ladyhill, Mangaluru; and Sandhya Acharya, ex-corporator, Mannagudda, Mangaluru—setting an atmosphere of honour and joyous anticipation.

This dignified beginning flowed into a soulful prayer song that lifted hearts heavenward, followed by an elegant welcome dance that beautifully reflected the spirit of the celebration.

The programme blossomed with a vibrant cultural presentation by the students—a graceful expression of their creativity, discipline, and artistic finesse. Each performance added rhythm and colour to the evening, captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression.

The stage proceedings continued with the formal welcome of the chief guests by the principal, Sr Jenifer Moras AC. Pride filled the air as the school honoured its sports achievers, applauding their perseverance and outstanding accomplishments. In a moment of heartfelt reverence, former principals and devoted staff members were felicitated, their years of selfless service standing as the pillars of the institution’s enduring legacy. The stage programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks.

The diamond jubilee celebration drew to a serene and melodious close with the singing of Christmas carols, as the school community came together to wish the gathering a Blessed Christmas and a Prosperous New Year, bringing an evening of grace and gratitude to a memorable conclusion—true to its theme, lumière – shining with grace.
