Mangaluru, Dec 23: St Theresa’s School, Bendur, witnessed a meaningful and joy-filled Christmas programme cum retirement felicitation in honour of Olivia R A Dsouza on December 23 at the school’s main hall. The programme was held in an atmosphere of gratitude, celebration, and festive cheer.

The event commenced with a warm welcome, followed by a prayer service that set a reverent tone for the morning. Melodious Christmas carols added to the spirit of the season, spreading joy and goodwill among all present.

The retirement segment began with a heartfelt sharing by Kavitha, who spoke warmly of Olivia’s dedication, discipline, and loving guidance over the years. This was followed by a lively entertainment dance and a wishing song, making the celebration both emotional and joyful.

Olivia was then honoured in a special felicitation ceremony. Sr Shaila, the correspondent and chief guest, addressed the gathering on behalf of the management, appreciating Olivia’s committed service, strong values, and lasting contribution to the institution. Sr Lourdes, the principal, gave a farewell speech and also read out the citation of honour, highlighting Olivia’s journey, leadership, and impact on generations of students.

Olivia was felicitated with gifts as a mark of love, respect, and gratitude. In her response, she expressed heartfelt thanks to the management, colleagues, students, and parents for their support and affection throughout her teaching career.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a fitting end to a memorable celebration that beautifully blended the joy of Christmas with a respectful farewell to a dedicated educator.
