Mangaluru, Dec 19: Presidency School, Mangaluru, resonated with colour, rhythm, and creative expression as it celebrated its Annual Day for the academic year 2025–26 on December 19 . Aptly titled “Jashn-E-Rang: Where Life Shines in Every Shade,” the grand evening stood as a vibrant celebration of talent, culture, and collective spirit.

The ceremony had the presence of Vijayakranthi, assistant commissioner of police, Mangaluru South Sub-Division, as the chief guest, and Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest, St Lawrence Church, Bondel, as the guest of honour.

The programme commenced with a dignified guard of honour, wherein students extended a ceremonial welcome to the chief guest, dignitaries, and invited guests. Their disciplined and synchronized march set a tone of pride and excellence for the evening. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Vijayakranthi, guest of honour Fr. Andrew Leo D’Souza, assistant director Arun Devraj, principal Shaila Saldanha, PU principal Raghavendra Shenoy, and admin manager Prathibha Chetan, formally inaugurating the event.

After a soulful invocation, the school paid a solemn tribute in loving memory of Lohithasha, a devoted staff member, honouring his invaluable service and lasting contribution to the institution.

Principal Shaila Saldanha, in her warm welcome address, highlighted the school’s unwavering commitment to holistic education, nurturing creativity, character, and confidence among students. This was followed by the felicitation of outstanding students who excelled in academics and co-curricular activities, acknowledging their dedication and achievements.

In her inspiring address, chief guest Vijayakranthi encouraged students to pursue their aspirations with discipline, courage, and integrity, emphasizing the importance of resilience and responsibility. Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, in his message, urged students to remain grounded in values, compassion, and service to society.

The cultural programme emerged as the highlight of the evening, featuring a rich array of performances across age groups. From charming Kindergarten dances and vibrant folk presentations to expressive thematic dances, band performances, drama, and patriotic sequences, each act beautifully embodied the theme of colours, emotions, and unity. A special moment of pride was the inauguration of the school band, “PS Rhythm Rebels,” marking a significant musical milestone in the school’s journey.

Ayesha Ilham, cod, and Dimple Pinto, who gracefully emceed the programme, along with the dedicated teaching staff, brought the event to life through their collective vision and tireless efforts. The celebration concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Anand Prasad, COD, followed by the National Anthem, leaving the audience with cherished memories of an evening enriched with creativity, harmony, and joy.
