Dubai, Dec 13: India’s young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has reacted calmly to becoming the most-searched Indian personality on Google in 2025, saying his sole focus remains on improving his game despite the growing hype around him.
The 14-year-old continued his sensational form on Friday, smashing a record-breaking 171 off just 95 balls in India’s Group A opener against the United Arab Emirates in the U19 Asia Cup at the ICC Academy Ground here. The knock is now the highest score by an Indian in the history of the U19 Asia Cup.

After the match, the broadcaster informed Suryavanshi that he had emerged as the most searched person in India this year, even surpassing senior star Virat Kohli, and ranked sixth among the most searched personalities globally. Asked how he stays grounded amid the attention, the teenager from Samastipur in Bihar said he does not let such things distract him.
“I don’t pay attention to these things. I keep the focus on my game. Yes, I do hear about these developments, and it does feel nice. I look at it, feel good about it and then move forward. That’s about it,” Suryavanshi said.
His blistering knock, studded with nine fours and 14 sixes, also set a new record for the most sixes in a single innings at the U19 level. It is now the second-highest score by an Indian in youth ODIs, behind Ambati Rayudu’s unbeaten 177 against England in 2002, and the ninth-highest score overall in men’s U19 ODIs.
With his fearless strokeplay and mature outlook at just 14, Suryavanshi has quickly emerged as one of the brightest young talents in Indian cricket.
