Mumbai, Dec 10: Residents in multiple parts of Mumbai are set to face a full-day water cut later this week, as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will undertake major pipeline connection work across the city. The shutdown will affect water supply in K/East, H/East and G/North wards, causing either a complete halt or reduced water pressure in several localities.
The water supply will remain suspended from 9 am on December 12 to 9 am on December 13, impacting thousands of households and commercial establishments. The BMC said that the shutdown is necessary to connect crucial water lines, including the Tansa West main, Vaitarna main, and other major pipelines in the G/North ward.

In the G/North region, large parts of Dharavi, including Dharavi Main Road, Loop Road, A.K.G. Nagar and adjoining areas, will be without water on December 12, while locations such as Jasmine Mill Road, Matunga Labour Camp, 60 Feet Road, 90 Feet Road and nearby zones will remain affected on December 13.
The K/East ward will also experience disruption, with Marol, Military Road, Vasant Oasis, Chakala, JB Nagar and surrounding areas facing a shutdown on December 12. On the following day, areas like Om Nagar, Kanti Nagar, and Sahar Village will be hit.
The work will further impact the H/East ward, where the entire Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Motilal Nagar will go without supply on December 12, while Prabhat Colony, Yashwant Nagar, Golibar Road to Kherwadi and Government Colony in Bandra (East) will be affected on December 13.
The civic body has appealed to residents to store adequate water in advance and use available supply cautiously during the shutdown. Authorities assured that the essential repair and upgrade work is aimed at improving water distribution and ensuring a more reliable supply in the future.
Water services are expected to resume gradually within the stipulated 24-hour period, and the BMC urged the public to cooperate during the maintenance operation.
