New Delhi, Dec 9: Indian racing talent Kush Maini has officially signed with ART Grand Prix for the 2026 Formula 2 season, marking his return for a fourth year in the championship after an impressive run featuring two wins and seven podium finishes.
Maini, who previously finished runner-up in the 2020 BRDC British F3 Championship and secured a podium during the 2022 FIA Formula 3 season, said he is eager to begin this new chapter with one of F2’s most storied teams.

“I’m very happy to be joining such a historic team like ART Grand Prix. My first contacts with the engineers and mechanics have been very positive. I appreciate the determination and the human atmosphere within the team, and I can’t wait to start working with them and see what we can achieve together,” he said.
ART Grand Prix Team Principal Sébastien Philippe praised Maini’s racing maturity, highlighting his standout victory at Monaco. “Kush has shown real speed and maturity in Formula 2, and his win in Monaco is a clear example of his potential. We are happy to welcome him to ART Grand Prix and look forward to working together in 2026.”
Maini’s ascent has also extended into Formula 1. Earlier this month, the Alpine F1 Team confirmed his participation in the post-season Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi, driving the A525 alongside Alpine racer Pierre Gasly and several other F1 competitors. Through Alpine’s TPC programme and extensive simulator work, he has rapidly strengthened his F1 credentials.
His historic Monaco win made him the first Indian ever to triumph at the iconic circuit, and his appointment as one of Alpine’s Test & Reserve Drivers made him the first Indian in 13 years to hold an official role with an F1 team. His upcoming run on December 9 will make him only the third Indian to take part in an official Formula One session.
With his growing F1 presence and a fresh start at ART Grand Prix, Maini is positioned for a defining 2026 season.
