Mangaluru, Nov 27: The Career Guidance Programme 2025 was conducted on November 27 with the noble objective of empowering grade 10 students and their parents with clarity, confidence, and informed direction as they prepare to make significant academic choices. This enriching programme brought together eminent resource persons, and supportive parents for an enlightening and interactive experience.
The event commenced with a solemn invocation and the ceremonial lighting of the sacred lamp. The correspondent, Sr Shaila, the principal, Sr Lourdes, along with the distinguished speakers—Dr R G D’Souza, Abhimanyu Tomar, and Collette Cabral, PTA vice-president—graced the occasion by jointly lighting the lamp. This symbolic act was followed by a melodious prayer song presented by the school choir, which imbued the gathering with a serene and reflective spirit.
In her eloquent welcome address, principal Sr Lourdes set an inspiring tone for the day, stressing the significance of making informed choices and understanding one’s innate strengths before embarking on academic and career pathways.
The programme’s first session began with Dr R G D’Souza, a reputed expert in career counselling. His insightful and thought-provoking address highlighted the importance of stream selection, self-awareness, and the harmonious alignment of aptitude with interest. His words offered parents a profound understanding of how to make purposeful academic decisions.
The second session featured Abhimanyu Tomar, a noted specialist in competitive examinations. His comprehensive presentation shed light on examination patterns, strategic preparation techniques, and the disciplined approach necessary to excel in an increasingly competitive educational landscape. His practical guidance proved invaluable for students aspiring to pursue various entrance examinations.
The final session of the day was delivered by Kiran Vasanth, who provided an in-depth exposition on Chartered Accountancy as a prestigious career option. He shared compelling insights into the CA journey, the challenges inherent in the profession, and the unwavering commitment required to succeed. His address inspired many students to view the commerce and CA pathway with renewed aspiration.
An engaging Q&A Session, moderated gracefully by Sr Shaila, allowed parents and students to interact directly with the experts. The panel addressed a wide range of questions, offering clarity on stream selection, competitive exams, and diverse professional avenues.
