Mangaluru, Nov 26: The first day of the 6th Graduation Day of the Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), witnessed 889 graduates of BBA, BCom, MBA, MSc (computer science, food technology), MSW, Bio-Science and Computational Biology programmes receiving their degrees at the Yendurance Zone, Deralakatte.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr (Lt Col) Prasad S N, director, SDMIMD Mysuru, called on graduates to anchor their lives in integrity, ethics and values even as technology transforms the world. Reflecting on his journey from mechanical engineering to the Indian Army, he emphasised mental resilience, discipline and responsibility. “Be proud of yourself, your parents, and society this is how you make Yenepoya proud,” he said.








Prof Arun A Bhagwath, CEO, Yenepoya International School (KSA), highlighted the institution’s successful adoption of the National Education Policy 2020, noting that the current batch marks the first NEP-based graduates. He underscored that adaptability and attitude will shape future careers as AI, quantum computing and emerging technologies redefine job roles, urging students to embrace continuous learning, deep skilling and upskilling.
In his presidential address, Dr B H Sripathi Rao, pro vice-chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) reminded the graduates to acknowledge the support of their parents and teachers. Expressing concerns about technology-driven shortcuts in learning, he encouraged students to strengthen discipline, communication skills and core values.
During the event, Prof Jeevan Raj, (I/C) principal, YIASCM, acknowledged the outstanding achievements of the graduating students. He reflected on their dedication, perseverance, and hard work throughout their college journey, noting how their personal and academic growth was a testament to the vibrant academic environment fostered at the institution. He also expressed immense pride in nurturing future leaders, emphasizing that the graduates were well-prepared to face the challenges of the world with confidence and integrity. He highlighted that their accomplishments not only reflected their potential but also the unwavering support of the faculty and the collaborative spirit of the college.
Prof. Shareena P, vice principal and dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, delivered the welcome note, and Narayan Sukumar A, vice principal, proposed the vote of thanks. Prof Ismail B, dean, faculty of Science; Dr Vasanth Kumar, dean, faculty of Arts and Social Sciences; heads of departments and ACOEs graced the occasion.
The ceremony was compered by Pinakini Shetty and Charithra from the Department of Management, along with Dr Sareen Sheikh from the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. The programme concluded with the National Anthem. The event witnessed the presence of teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, and guardians.
