Smriti Mandhana-Palash Muchhal wedding postponed after bride’s father falls ill

Mumbai, Nov 23: The much-anticipated wedding of cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal, scheduled to take place in Sangli, Maharashtra on Sunday, has been postponed following a health scare involving the bride’s father.

According to family aide Tuhin Mishra, Smriti’s father fell ill during breakfast and was immediately taken to a hospital via ambulance, where he is currently under observation. “At this junction, we will like to respect the privacy of the family,” Mishra added, noting that the wedding has been rescheduled in accordance with Smriti’s wishes.

Smriti’s parents, Smita and Shrinivas Mandhana, reside in Sangli district in Western Maharashtra. In recent days, social media had been abuzz with updates about the pre-wedding celebrations of the star couple.

Smriti Mandhana, one of India’s leading women cricketers, has amassed over 9,500 runs in international cricket and was part of the Indian teams that clinched the 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup and the Women’s Asia Cup titles in 2016 and 2022. Palash Muchhal, a Mumbai-based music composer, hails from Indore and is the brother of noted playback singer and lyricist Palak Muchhal.
