Mumbai, Nov 15: Mumbai’s suburban rail network will face major disruptions today as Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) undertake extensive maintenance blocks across fast, slow, Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines.
Western Railway announced a five-hour Jumbo Block from 10 am to 3 pm between Borivali and Ram Mandir on the Up Fast line, and between Ram Mandir and Goregaon on the Down Fast line. During the block, all Up Fast trains will be diverted to the Up Slow line between Borivali and Andheri, while Down Fast services will run on the Down Slow line from Andheri to Goregaon. Several services will be cancelled, and some Andheri and Borivali-bound Harbour line trains will be short-terminated at Goregaon.

“These maintenance blocks allow us to carry out track, signalling and overhead upgrades safely. While passengers may face delays, these works are essential for long-term system reliability,” said Vineeth Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway.
Simultaneously, Central Railway will operate a four-hour Mega Block impacting the Main, Harbour and Trans-Harbour corridors. On the Main Line, Up and Down slow services between CSMT and Vidyavihar will remain affected from 10.55 am to 3.55 pm. Down slow trains leaving CSMT during this period will use the Down Fast line up to Vidyavihar, halting at major stations before switching back. Up slow services from Ghatkopar will be diverted to the Up Fast line till CSMT.
Harbour Line services between Panvel and Vashi will remain cancelled from 11.05 am to 4.05 pm, with all CSMT–Belapur/Panvel services suspended. On the Trans-Harbour route, Panvel–Thane trains will not operate during the block, though Thane–Vashi/Nerul services will continue. Port Line services will run normally.
