Mangaluru, Nov 14: ‘Jai’, a Tulu film produced under the banners of R S Cinemas, Shoolin Films and Mugrodi Production, and directed by Roopesh Shetty, was released on Friday, November 14 at Bharat Cinemas. The screening was inaugurated by the guests with the traditional lighting of the lamp.
Speaking on the occasion, veteran theatre personality Dr Devadas Kapikad said, “Roopesh Shetty’s direction has brought ‘Jai’ to life beautifully. It is our duty to support every Tulu film. Tuluvas must watch these movies in theatres to encourage the film teams.”




























Producer Prakash Pandeshwar said, “Today, Tulu films have dedicated theatres. For producers who invest in these movies to succeed, Tuluvas must come to theatres and watch them. ‘Jai’ has raised audience expectations, and I wish the film great success.”
Those present on stage included actor-director Roopesh Shetty, Balakrishna Shetty of Big Cinemas, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Bala Jagannath Shetty, lead actress Advithi Shetty, Raj Deepak Shetty, Thamma Lakshman, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, Prasanna Shetty Bailoor, Umesh Mijar, Sachin Uppinangady, Naveen Shetty, Prem Shetty, Shobha Shetty, Sujatha Shaktinagar, Jayashila and others. Nitesh Shetty Ekkar compered the programme.
The film is directed by Rupesh Shetty, with the story and dialogues written by Prasanna Shetty Bailoor. The screenplay is by Rupesh Shetty and Venu Hasralli. Cinematography is by Vinuth K, music by Loy Valentine Saldana, editing by Rahul Vasishtha, and choreography and executive production by Naveen Shetty Aryans.
The cast includes Sunil Shetty, Dr Devadas Kapikad, Raj Deepak Shetty, Naveen D Padil, Aravind Bolar, Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, Prasanna Shetty Bailooru, Sandeep Shetty Manibettu, Umesh Mijar, Manoj Chetan D’Souza and others. Advithi Shetty plays the female lead.
A bilingual movie in Tulu and Kannada, ‘Jai’ has been released at multiple theatres including Roopavani, PVR, Bharat Cinemas, Cinepolis in Mangaluru; Cine Galaxy in Surathkal; Bharat Cinemas in Padubidri, Udupi, Manipal, Beltangady, Kundapur and Deralakatte; Radhika and Planet in Karkala; and Bharat Cinemas in Puttur. The film is said to be a complete entertainer and has succeeded in attracting audiences.
