Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur

Puttur, Nov 13: A 15-year-old girl who had attempted suicide by consuming poison died while undergoing treatment on November 12.

The deceased has been identified as Harshitha (15), daughter of Sridhar Kumbar, a resident of Paradka in Ilanthila village, Beltangady taluk.

Harshitha, a Class 10 student of a high school in Uppinangady, had complained of a headache and stayed home on November 4. She reportedly consumed pesticide at home and fell seriously ill. Her mother immediately rushed her to a hospital in Puttur, from where she was later shifted to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru for advanced treatment.

Despite efforts by doctors, Harshitha succumbed on November 12.

According to a complaint lodged by her father Sridhar Kumbar at the Uppinangady police station, a man named Rajesh from Kadaba had allegedly been harassing Harshitha over the phone. It is suspected that the harassment may have driven her to take the extreme step.

Police have registered a case and are investigating.

Why the police have not arrested the criminal Rajesh who was harassing her? The Dakshina Kannada police shouldn't act like the UP police where goonda raj is prevalent. Siddaramaihji should take strict action against such police who are not doing thier duty properly.

Girls with make up look more attractive and without it unrecognizable! Natural beauties are exception. Among celebrities Smitha Patel had that charm.

Such a small girl ! Too much make up at this age !!?? We are not doing 1 percent lof makeup even now forget the college time ! Hair hair is falling on ears /forehead ! Kajaal hmm This much style even heroins' daughters are also not doing. !!Why mobiles are given in their hands ? Parents are giving mobiles to nursery going children to keep them away and mothers are busy wasting time in fb/insta and beauty parlours...Every school/college is strictly prohibiting the usage of mobiles. When father knew, why didn't he approach police or concerned authorities?

"As per her father, a man named Rajesh from Kadaba had allegedly been harassing Harshitha over the phone and that may have driven her to take the extreme step" This could also be due to the pressure from parents opposing her relation with the boy. Whatever the reason truth will unfold soon. R.I.P. Harshitha
