90% complaints on Goa CM helpline resolved in 48 hours: Sawant

Panaji, Nov 11: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that 90% of complaints received on the Chief Minister’s helpline are being resolved within 48 hours, while the remaining 10% are settled within four to five days. He added that the CM helpline will soon be powered by artificial intelligence to further enhance efficiency.

Speaking at the inauguration of a new 300 sq m office for the Department of Public Grievances, Sawant said the state government’s focus is on making governance more transparent and citizen-centric. “We have also launched a new public grievances portal. If a person reaches out through our helpline, grievances are resolved in 48 hours. The remaining 10% take a little longer due to interdepartmental issues,” he said.

Sawant said that through the new portal and the CM helpline, the government aims to ensure accountability and make grievance redressal easier for citizens. The portal also provides detailed information on various government schemes.

Drawing from his experience at Janata Darbars across the state, Sawant said that most common issues people face relate to water supply and land ownership. “The app, website, and helpline are being introduced so that people’s issues are resolved without them having to come to me personally. We are working to reach the last person,” he said.

Officials said the CM helpline app will be launched on December 19 and will incorporate an AI-based analytical engine by January. The AI tool will help analyse the nature of complaints, alert departments for prompt action, and act as a performance indicator for officials across various departments.
