Holy Family Church, Omzoor celebrates Children’s Day with devotion and joy

Mangaluru, Nov 10: Holy Family Church, Omzoor, joyfully celebrated Children’s Day along with Altar Servers’ Day and Missionary Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and devotion.

The celebration commenced with the Holy Eucharistic Mass, celebrated by Fr Flavian Lobo, professor at Jeppu Seminary, with Fr Victor D’Souza, residential priest of Omzoor Parish, as co-celebrant.

Following the Mass, the festivities continued in the church hall with a prayer song by the students and a welcome address. The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Fr William Menezes, parish priest of Omzoor parish; Fr Flavian Lobo; Fr Victor D’Souza; Arther D’Souza, vice president of the Parish Pastoral Committee; Daffny Lewis, secretary of the Parish Pastoral Committee; Elroy Saldanha, head of 18 Commissions; Sr Luciana, superior of St Charles Borromeo Convent; Leena Pais, in-charge of the Altar Servers; and Delson Rodrigues, in-charge of the Missionary Children’s Association.

 

The annual reports of both the Altar Servers’ Association and the Missionary Children’s Association were presented, showcasing their activities and accomplishments over the past year. The dignitaries addressed the gathering, commending the children for their active involvement and sincere commitment to the parish community.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of various games organized as part of the celebration. A vibrant dance performance by the students added color and joy to the event.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a delicious lunch shared by all participants. A total of 60 enthusiastic children took part in this memorable celebration, making it a day filled with faith, fellowship, and joy.
