Farmer killed in hit-and-run accident in Jalna, family devastated

Jalna, Nov 9: Road accidents continue to rise in Jalna district, leaving several families shattered as they lose their breadwinners. In one such tragic incident, a farmer was killed after being hit by a speeding vehicle near Dhavada village in Bhokardan taluk.

According to reports, the accident occurred on the evening of November 7, 2025, around 8 p.m., on the Ajintha–Buldhana highway. The deceased, identified as Ganesh Bhagat (40), a small-scale farmer from Valsavangi village in Bhokardan taluk, was returning home on his motorcycle after finishing his day’s work when an unidentified speeding vehicle hit him with great force.

Eyewitnesses said the vehicle fled the scene immediately after the collision. Some motorists passing by stopped to help and found Bhagat lying in a pool of blood on the road. Although they tried to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the spot due to severe head and chest trauma that caused heavy bleeding.

Local residents informed the Paradh Police, who later reached the scene. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace the unidentified vehicle involved in the accident.

The sudden death of Ganesh Bhagat has left his family devastated. Being the sole earning member, his passing has brought immense grief and financial uncertainty to the household. The local community has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and demanded strict action against the hit-and-run driver.
