Bantwal: Ganja seized near B C road, accused arrested

Bantwal, Nov 7: The excise officials have arrested a man for allegedly selling ganja near the railway track close to B C Road in Bantwal jurisdiction.

The arrested is identified as Santosh Sonkar (28).

During the operation, officials seized 6.590 kg of ganja packed in 1,173 plastic sachets from the accused. He was later produced before the court and has been remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was carried out under the directions of the joint commissioner of the Mangaluru excise division and the guidance of the deputy commissioner of excise and the Bantwal sub-divisional excise deputy superintendent. The team included Bantwal range excise inspector Lakshman Shivanagi and excise staff Prakash, Basavaraj, and Srinivas.
