Riyadh, Oct 31: In a move that underscores a shared vision for global cultural integration, Saudi Arabia and Colombia have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation across a broad spectrum of creative and cultural sectors.
The agreement was formalised in Riyadh, where Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah, and Colombia’s Minister of Culture, Arts and Traditional Knowledges, Yannai Kadamani Fonrodona, came together to cement a new era of bilateral cultural collaboration.

The MoU aims to strengthen ties through joint initiatives in heritage preservation, music, architecture, film, museums, visual and performing arts, literature, publishing, translation, fashion, and culinary arts. Both nations emphasised that this partnership will serve as a bridge of understanding, promoting shared values and artistic innovation.
Officials highlighted that the framework goes beyond symbolic gestures, outlining practical mechanisms such as knowledge-sharing, training programmes, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives. These efforts are expected to provide a strong foundation for sustainable cultural development and professional growth in both countries.
This agreement builds upon an already growing partnership between the two nations, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to fostering international dialogue and cultural diplomacy. By joining hands with Colombia, the Kingdom seeks to encourage cross-cultural exchange, nurture creative talent, and promote artistic excellence on the global stage.
Both governments affirmed that the MoU represents not just cooperation, but a long-term cultural bridge that will bring communities closer through shared creativity, innovation, and mutual respect.
