Mangaluru, Oct 28: Celebrated Bollywood filmmaker and Padma Shri awardee Dr Madhur Bhandarkar inaugurated the second branch of Shiva’s Signature Family Salon in Mangaluru on Tuesday morning, describing the occasion as a tribute to friendship, dedication and professional excellence.
Speaking at the event, Bhandarkar said, “The bond I share with Shiva itself is proof of the beauty of this occasion. Our bond is a symbol of brotherhood and achievement.” He praised Dr Shivarama K Bhandary’s tireless efforts in transforming his hereditary profession into a thriving enterprise with international standards.
“No matter how much we accomplish across the world, true recognition comes only when we contribute to our own hometown,” he observed. “Through years of commitment, Shiva’s has built a remarkable reputation in Mumbai and Mangaluru. I am confident the brand will soon spread across Karnataka and earn national fame,” he added.
The new outlet, managed by Shiva’s Hair Designers Pvt. Ltd, Karkala, marks the brand’s 26th salon overall and its second in Mangaluru. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed jointly by Dr Madhur Bhandarkar and Miss India International award-winner and Bollywood actress Ayeesha Aiman, who extended their congratulations to the founder and his team.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Ashok Munsi (Parashar Healing), advocate. Padmaraj R Poojary (Congress leader), Prof Vittal Abura, Dr K Prashanth Marla (administrative director, A J Hospital), Yuvraj Jain (president, Excellent Educational Institutions), Rashmita Jain (secretary), M V Satishan (S-Cube entrepreneur), Nithyananda Bhandari Talapady, K Hiremath, Nakul Poojari (Kalaburagi), Yathik Raj, and S Sadhana, all of whom extended their best wishes to the Shiva’s team.
The ceremony commenced with a lamp-lighting ritual led by Dr Shivarama K Bhandary and his wife Anushree Shivarama, accompanied by their daughter Aradhya S Bhandary. The family invoked blessings from their deity Sri Kachooru Nageshwara Devaru and paid homage to the late Gulabi K Bhandary.
Under the priesthood of Vidwan Sri Nagaraj Bhat of Dharegudde, sacred rites including Vastu Homa and Sudarshana Homa (performed on Monday night) were followed by Ganahoma, Lakshmi Pooja, and Satyanarayana Pooja on Tuesday morning. The rituals concluded with the distribution of Teertha Prasada and blessings for prosperity.
In his address, Dr Shivarama K Bhandary reflected on his professional journey and the values behind his success.
“Blending purity of intention with enterprise transforms individuals into achievers,” he said. “The discipline and dedication I cultivated from childhood have made my hereditary vocation my life’s true calling,” he added.
Architect Deepak Baliga, Vinay Kumar Bangambila, Raghav V Bhandary, Shwetha R Bhandary, Ravi Bhandary, Mohammed Isaq, Sudarshan Bhandari, and Sinchana Bhandary were among those who joined in congratulating the founder.
The hosts, Dr Shivarama and Anushree Shivarama, presented bouquets and commemorative mementoes to the chief guests in appreciation.
Dr Vinod Chopra, CEO of Shiva’s Group, delivered the welcome address and company presentation. The event was compered by VJ Dixon, while Somashekar Bhandary offered the vote of thanks.
