Udupi, Oct 28: The much-awaited Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-1 grand finale is just around the corner, and excitement is building as the competition reaches its final stage. While the judges will decide the winner of the main title, the audience now has the power to choose their favourite contestant for the Tanishq Jewellery Udupi Daijiworld Swara Sagara Public Choice Singer Award through online voting.

The Public Choice Singer Award will be awarded to the finalist who secures the highest number of verified online votes among the top seven finalists of Daijiworld Swara Sagara Season-1.

Here are the top seven finalists:

Yashas Rao

A talented young singer from Mangaluru, he is currently pursuing his 2nd PUC at CFAL PU College, Mangaluru. His musical journey began in early childhood, with his first stage performance in LKG. He began formal training in Carnatic music under Vidwan Krishna Acharya, Bantwal, in Class 6, and has been learning western keyboard from Carmelita Alvares, Mangaluru, since the age of 8. Guided by his mentor Vinush Bharadwaj Kundapura, Yashas excels in Carnatic, semi-classical, and film songs. Inspired by legends like Dr S P Balasubrahmanyam, Vijay Prakash, and Sonu Nigam, he dreams of becoming a renowned playback singer. His accolades include winning Swara Kudla Season 5, Karavali Super Singer 2024, and Super Singer 2023 at Beach Utsav Mangaluru, along with Ragadalege Bhava Besuge and others. Honoured with the Ganasiri Gayana Ratna and Young Achievers Award, Yashas continues to shine as one of the most promising voices of the coastal region.

Bhavashree Achara

A talented singer from Bandimatta, Barkur, she comes from a humble background—her father works as a carpenter, and her mother is a homemaker. The second daughter in her family, Bhavashree is currently employed as a CAD designer. Her musical journey began at the age of three when she accompanied her mother and sister to music classes and gradually developed a deep passion for singing. She is receiving formal training in Carnatic classical music under the guidance of Jayashree G Bhat, the same teacher who once taught her mother. Inspired by her guru and legendary singers K S Chithra and Shreya Ghoshal, Bhavashree aspires to become a playback singer in the film industry. A versatile talent, she is also skilled in wall painting. Her dedication and melodious voice earned her the title of Voice of Barkur Season 1 in 2017.

Melona Clisha Saldanha

Hailing from Bajpe, Mangaluru, Melona is the younger daughter of Maxim and Shoba Saldanha and the sister of Melria Saldanha. She is currently pursuing her second PUC in Science at St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. Her musical journey began in early childhood when her parents noticed her imitating advertisement jingles on TV and encouraged her by enrolling her in music classes. Over the years, Melona has trained under various mentors—she learnt junior Carnatic music from Aruna Rao, received guidance from Alwyn Noronha and Joyce D’Souza in the Bajpe Church Choir, and is currently studying senior-level Carnatic music online under Vidwan Madhur Balasubramanyam, along with Western music training under Roshan D’Souza. Inspired by Shreya Ghoshal and S Janaki, she aspires to become a playback singer. Actively involved in church, YCS, and MFC programmes, she has won several singing competitions and was a finalist of Daijiworld’s Jigi Bigi Taram reality show.

K Madhura Shenoy

Originally from Sagara, Shivamogga district, Madhura was brought up in Mangaluru. Born into a GSB family, she is the only daughter of K Mahesh Shenoy, who works with BK Transport, and Sumathi Shenoy, a retired government teacher. Madhura works as a freelance voice-over artist for advertisements, an actor, and is also a member of a three-piece musical band named Swaraayu. Her musical journey began in early childhood when she would hold the taal in her tiny fingers while her mother sang bhajans. Madhura believes that music chose her rather than the other way around. Though not formally trained, she finds her Guru Tatva in every learning experience—from her shortcomings to observing other singers. She draws inspiration from fellow contestants and cherishes the guidance of Daijiworld Swara Sagara judge Yashwanth M G. A finalist of Voice of GSB 2019 (Season 1), Madhura has won numerous singing competitions at the state, district, and university levels, and dreams of seeing Swaraayu perform original compositions live for audiences.

Snehith Surendran

Originally from Kerala and raised in Mangaluru, Snehith is the younger son of Surendran, a hotelier in Mangaluru, and Sreeja. He has an elder brother, Sangeeth Surendran. Once a NEET aspirant during his audition days, Snehith has now successfully realized his dream of becoming a government MBBS student and is currently pursuing his degree at Srinivas Institute of Medical Science and Research Centre, Mukka, Mangaluru. His musical journey began in Grade 2, when he joined music classes along with his friends. Over time, his passion for music deepened, leading him to participate in numerous singing competitions. He is presently training in Carnatic and Hindustani music under Geeta Uday Bhat. Apart from singing, he is also a Bharatanatyam dancer. With his strong foundation in music, Snehith aspires to become a renowned playback singer. He has won multiple accolades, including the title winner of Namma TV’s Namma Super Singer Season 2, second runner-up of Daijiworld’s Sangeetha Thaare Season 2, and first runner-up of Swara Kudla.

Mohith Bhat

Hailing from Mundkinajeddu, Brahmavar, Mohith is the son of Muralidhar Bhat, a temple priest, and Anusuya Bhat, a homemaker. He is currently pursuing his final year of BCom at MGM College, Udupi. Mohith’s musical journey began at the tender age of seven when he started learning the basics of music from his father. Inspired by his parents, he is now undergoing Carnatic music training under Vidwan Madhur Balasubramanyam. Apart from singing, Mohith is also a harmonium player and an active volleyball player. Passionate about both performing and appreciating music, he dreams of becoming a proficient classical singer and an ardent music lover.

Karthik V N

Hailing from Anavatti, Shivamogga, Karthik comes from a small and supportive family that includes his grandmother, mother, who works in a hostel, and his sister. He has completed his undergraduate degree in Business Administration and plans to pursue an MBA. Karthik’s passion for music began in early childhood, where his enthusiasm for learning and performing helped shape his confidence and creativity. His deep love for melody and rhythm inspired him to embrace music as an integral part of his life. He is trained in Hindustani music under F L Bajantri, who guided him through his junior-level examinations. Encouraged by his family’s support, Karthik aspires to refine his performance skills and join a band to explore group performances and new musical experiences. Over the years, he has earned several awards and recognitions in music during his school and college days, fuelling his passion to continue his musical journey.

The grand finale of Daijiworld Swara Sagara, presented by Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Ltd and supported by Abharan Jewellers, Family Fashion, Pinky Fashion, and Rodrigues Caterers, will feature the region’s most promising singing talents. The event is being organized by Daijiworld Udupi Studio under Kishoo Enterprises.
